Lawrence 24/7 Plumbing is a dispatch-based plumbing service at 15 Union St, Lawrence, MA 01840. People call us when water is moving where it should not, a drain has quit or the hot water is gone.

We keep the promise small and specific. Licensed and insured plumbers, a clear price before work starts and same-day appointments when the schedule allows.

How a Call Becomes a Visit

Every call goes to the same 24/7 dispatch line, so the person who answers at 3 a.m. works from the same process as the one who answers at noon. They ask where the water is, what you have already shut off and whether anyone is hurt.

Then a plumber is assigned to your address. We do not quote an arrival time over the phone, because traffic on Route 28 or Interstate 495 and the weather change what is possible. You get an honest idea of what to expect for your street instead.

On site, the plumber stops the damage first, finds the cause and explains options. The price comes before the work, and you decide.

Haverhill is the longest drive of the towns we serve, so we are plain about that on the call and in the service area page.

Check a Plumber's License in Four Steps

Massachusetts plumbers are licensed by the Board of State Examiners of Plumbers and Gas Fitters, part of the Division of Occupational Licensure. You can check any plumber yourself, and you should.

1

Open the state lookup

On Mass.gov, search for Check an occupational board license, which leads to the eLIPSE system.

2

Search the name

Enter the plumber's name as it appears on the work order or the ID card. Ask the dispatcher for it if you do not have it yet.

3

Read the license type

Look for master or journeyman plumber, or a gas fitter license if the job involves gas. A registered apprentice works under a licensed plumber.

4

Confirm the status

The record should show the license as active. Anything expired or missing is a reason to stop and call back.

What Licensed and Insured Means for You

A license means the state has examined the person and recognizes them to do plumbing or gas fitting work. It also matters at permit time, because plumbing and gas fitting work that is replaced or repaired needs a permit from the local inspector.

Insurance is a separate matter. Liability coverage can pay for damage caused by a plumber's work, and it is fair to ask whether a company carries it before you let anyone cut into a wall. If an insurance question comes up, ask for proof in writing.

What We Do and What We Do Not Do

Being clear about limits saves everyone time.

We do

  • Answer the dispatch line around the clock
  • Send licensed, insured plumbers
  • Give a clear price before work starts
  • Offer same-day appointments when available
  • Serve Lawrence, Methuen, Andover, North Andover and Haverhill

We do not

  • Promise an arrival time
  • Start work before you approve the price
  • Take gas leak calls ahead of 911 and the gas utility
  • Cover oil burner work without a state-certified oil burner technician
  • Offer plumbing in New Hampshire

If you are unsure whether a job fits, call and ask. A plain no is better than a late yes.

What to Expect When a Plumber Arrives

Knowing the routine makes the visit shorter and keeps you in control of the job.

  • The plumber looks at the problem first and explains what they see before touching anything.
  • You hear the plan and the price before any work begins, so there is nothing to approve after the fact.
  • If the repair needs a permit, the plumber explains that the local inspector must be notified and handles that step.
  • If the fix is bigger than a same-visit repair, you get the options laid out, including a temporary measure if one is safe.
  • Before leaving, the plumber shows you the shutoff valve for the affected line so you know where to go next time.

If anything in that list does not happen, say so. A good plumber welcomes the question. You can also read about specific jobs such as burst pipe repair or drain cleaning before you call.
